Here’s a take on reality and metaphysical/unexplained “events”.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulated_reality
The premise of this link is that reality is really a super powerful computer program, that we are a part of, started by an advanced civilization.
The creators of this program might have left us clues-i.e.- intentenional glitches or “hidden Easter eggs” to let us discover that it is a simulation.
If you scroll down to the “Scientific and Technological Approaches” section of this link you will see this described under the “Software Bugs” and “Hidden Message Easter Eggs” paragraphs.
Even Carl Sagan searched for these glitches in the program of reality, thinking it might be hidden in pi or some other mathematical formula. If it has been found we haven’t been told.
The sightings of “alien space craft” could really be like web crawlers coming into the progam to collect data and report it back to the programmers.
Also the appearance of angels could be programmers entering into the program through some sort of interface to help or give guidance at cetain times.
Dare I say Jesus might have been the head programmer interfacing in at the dawn of western civilization to help at a time when Rome ruled the western world.
It is dubious how much help actually took when us program dwellers got done interpreting his instruction .
There are probably similar “events” involving figures in other religions.
Yes, I’ve heard about such ideas as all of reality being a “program” being run by some super intelligent entity or entities. But, if so, where did they come from? Personally, reading New Age fantasies (like Scientology) or the views, ideas, etc of the 21st century back into ancient religious texts, is a waste of time. I’ve often thought myself that all those “angels” might be space aliens (and what better way to account for a “resurrection,” “ascension,” etc. Incidentally, Elijah in the OT was taken up to heaven in a chariot of some sort. Might this be evidence of space aliens? Probably not. But I suppose it makes for a good science fiction yarn, no?
Yes, very very funny :). I had also thought of that. Where was Lazarus before being resurrected?. He was either in Heaven or in Hell. Being a friend of Jesus, I guess he was in Heaven. Therefore Jesus got him from Paradise so that he could endure suffering and death again!!
It’s strange that the gospels don’tt say anything about Lazarus telling where did he go when he died. It’s the very question you would ask if you believed in that kind of things. But the gospels say nothing. Actually, not all jews at that time believed in the afterlife. Pharisees believed so, while Saducees didn’t. Perhaps Lazarus was a Saducee (and maybe so was Jesus, who thought it would be great to give Lazarus a second chance. Of course, this is contradictory with Jesus’ very own Resurrection.).
