I mean, he personally showed up to make sure Thomas knew he’d died and risen again. It seems such a small thing to ask him to do the same for me.

Hell, my soul and my eternal salvation are on the line here. Can’t a just and loving god spare me one direct message? An appropiately impressive voicemail (left in the voice of the Metatron, naturally) would do the trick.

Clearly the Lord wants me to remain an atheist for His purposes. Who am I to deny my creator?

I have *additional* problems with the people who want to impose Christian rules on the rest of us — and I can’t be live-and-let-live about that, because of course the other side aren’t willing to do that.

I do appreciate — in both senses — the fact that there are voices within the churches (even the theologically conservative ones) opposing these quasi-theocratic tendencies.

Oh and the Bible is god as the Bible says it is – do you see a flaw in your argument anywhere perhaps?

If you can’t see the epic failure of rationality in using a book’s claims of legitimacy to establish the legitimacy of that book, then you are beyond any reasonable discourse.

I’ve debated many evangelists on the topic of god and atheism. The next one that presents me with even one piece of actual evidence for their faith will be the very first one.

The truth is, God knew this would happen. He knew people would deny that he is real….its happend before:

While I dislike the medieval thinking of most evangelical christians, my real problem with christianity is the complete lack of evidence that any of it is true.

If I just want an itinerant philosopher, I can think of quite a number I like better than Jesus, and some of them even wrote down their own thoughts rather than having other people write them down fifty years later.

That’s what it comes down to for me. The silly, angry, hypocritical masses are just fun to make fun of.

I’m an evangelical Christian that isn’t mad at everyone like some of the fundamentalists in our midst. I enjoy reading your blog…in fact, I think you might get a kick out of this post. I just wanted you to know that there are those of us Christians who think and learn and, though we don’t have an answer for everything, we’re actually pretty civilized and interesting. I would love for you to check out some of my thoughts at churchethos.wordpress.com. It’s not necessarily a blog to refute (and certainly not to attack) atheism, but my whole point is that the Church has developed some bad habits and I want to be a part of the solution to the problem. The problem is that there are a lot of Christians who don’t think they just swallow whatever their pastor tells them.

My blog is by a Christian to other Christians encourage them to follow Jesus and to think Christianly. Most people who have a problem with the Church have a problem with it because of Christian protesters and street preachers. I find very few people who have a problem with Jesus. We’ve all made mistakes but the more we can learn from and live like Jesus, the better. I hope you will participate in discussions on my blog because I think your input would be valuable.
