You're right. I celebrate Christmas and Easter, but not as a religious experience. It's just a set time of the year when I get together with family I haven't seen in a while, and we just spend time together. As a kid, both days were just fun. As an adult, it's heart warming. Religion has no place in either of them for me.

So, while there are -some- atheists that want to get rid of Christmas and Easter, there are many more who don't care one way or the other.

My whole stand on religion, really, has to do with the fact that I am an American. And despite what most Christians would want, America was not founded as a Christian nation. Infact, there is a separation of Church and State, and that is what I stand for and believe in.

Yes, I think religion is poison (but not faith). And in a perfect world, we'd be without such silly and unsupported beliefs. However, we don't live in a perfect world. We (well, I, and any like me) live in America. And in America, you're free to believe what you want, so long as your beliefs do not interfere with the rights of others, or with the laws of the government.

So, what I saw in the past eight years under Bush was the religious right making strong power plays into the government. Ignoring one of the best parts of the laws that govern our nation, which is the Separation of Church and State. When the religious movement gets OUT of my government, and stops trying to turn our nation into a theocracy, that's when I'll stop caring about what other religious people do.

If there was no Separation of Church and State, then I wouldn't have any ground to stand on when it comes to telling others how they should act.

Is this the game where we make up violent, creepy stuff and pretend someone else said it? Because I'm sure that's just exactly what Jesus would do.

Do you also intend to burn churches, destroy all religious statues and burn bibles? Because you don't like religious based holidays?

Should the European's destroy all 1000 year old kathedrals because you don't like your religious based holidays?

Show we destroy all Mayan tempels because you don't like religious based holidays?

Look even though we are atheists, that does not mean we would have to destroy or remove all religous references since these are cultural inheritances. It is part of our history that once in the past, people were more religious.

Easter, Christmas it is just a name. Nothing more than a name. You could give any none-religious meaning to it what you want.

Easter eggs are designed to keep children occupied while their pagan parents are participating in satanic orgies and are a representation of Lucifer's testicles. It's all in this book.

I want to have my own celebration days.

I don't want stupid religious based holidays. they're hypocrytical.

I want to celebrate pretty numbers.
Because they're pretty.

By the way.. ti's christianity that hijacked a lot of heather celebration days and made up stories to make it their own.
