Some years ago, after Pat Robertson reminded Orlando (who was hosting a gay pride parade and is the home of gay tolerant Disney) that they were in the path of hurricanes, the next big hurricane struck Roberson’s own Virginian Beach. I guess that god doesn’t like the 700 club.
As if this is news. If god loved elms he wouldn’t have created Dutch Elm Disease now would he?
Elms were tall, stately pines before the Fall. The tree the snake was sitting in when it tempted Eve was one of those pines. It deserved everything it got.
I’ve always wanted to get myself a T-shirt printed with the signature line I used at Julia Sweeney’s forum:
“God is dead like unicorns are extinct.”
You could make it with a picture of a fossilized unicorn.
That’s a great idea, actually.
