		<description>I like how Scholea can&#039;t think of any secular way of honoring the dead. It is literally beyond his imagination to avoid religion in a national monument.

But seriously, &quot;some conglomerate of a cross, a Star of David, and . . . a Moslem half moon and star&quot; would be just as religious and just as unconstitutional as the current monument (not to mention the fact that the crescent moon and star isn&#039;t really an Islamic symbol per se, but a symbol of the Ottoman Empire adapted by other Islamic nations). The whole point is that religion is personal, not national, in monuments as much as anywhere else.</description>
