Pat Robertson on the Feminist Agenda

The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.

  1. Yet another fundy who takes no shame in illustrating exactly why fundies should all have their mouths sewn shut.

  2. I enjoy how he doesn’t hold back any of the crazy, but goes full bore. Feminists kill their children. That sounds likely.

  3. He forgot to mention Hitler.

  4. I thought I was still watching Monty Python.

  5. Wow, so many buzzwords all at once. It’s hard to understand any of it, but where in the heck do the last three come from?

practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.

I don’t see anything in the real world that those correspond to.

At least a few actually correspond to something that’s happening in the world:

    killing children ——– abortion
leaving husbands ———– not submitting to men
anti-family ——— women in the workforce

But practicing witchcraft? Destroying capitalism? I don’t know how they could be related to anything that’s actually happening …

    • How was that nazi add? (from Goebbels?)
““The misery of Germany is due to Jews and cyclists.”
      Readers wondered… why cyclists?

    • For practicing witchcraft, he’s PROBABLY referring to popular new-age/faux-pagan/eastern philosophies that are very female-focused and pushed by self-help gurus and Oprah. Think of women doing yoga and drinking herbal tea, to Pat, that’s “Witchcraft”.

    • To be clear, I’m not agreeing with Pat at all. Just observing that some his fears actually correspond to real life, while others appear to be complete fantasy.

    • A lot of feminists were also socialists, and there is also a strain of admiration for lesbians in the more radical feminist movements, because men are bastards (which is a fair observation).

And never forget the female separatist movement!

  6. Putz Robertson makes me very proud to be a feminist. I’m an original bra-burner

  7. The only women I can think of off hand who killed their children on purpose or by gross intentional neglect (pretty much the same thing, legally) were either religious ‘faith healers’ or mentally ill. And, almost all of the mentally ill ones suffered from religious delusions. Never heard of a ‘feminist’ killing his/her (yes there are plenty of male feminsits) children for ideological reasons. I suppose Pat R. would include abortions in the category of ‘feminists killing their children’, but even so I don’t think it likely that any one has had an abortion for ideological reasons.

Sounds like more projection from the right wing.

    • The tie in of “killing children” to abortion doesnt make sense to me though. If you beleive that abortion is “killing”, then you would be killing a “person” not a “child”. If he really wanted to use a word that would cause a greater emotional stir, then he should have said “killing babies”. Which makes me think he really does mean those women who kill their offsprings.

Of course he’s an rambling idiot and maybe didnt think about the word impact as much….so,..yeah…maybe thats the simple answer: “He doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about”

  8. [Finding juicy P.R. quotes is] like shooting fish in a barrel. I honestly don’t think he’s even a Christian, but a politician and an idealogue.

  9. The fundamentalist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a patriarchal, dictatorial movement that encourages women to serve their husbands, kill their hopes for advancement, practice ignorance, destroy progress, and become mindless drones.

    There, fixed it.

  10. Feminism is the radical belief that women should be treated like humans.

  11. Come on people, I do agree Pat is a stupid ass, who speak out his rear-end most all the time. He has been milking his believers for billions and billions.

Please note that this is not a new Quote, it was reported in 1992, so come on, Pat says this kind of stuff on a day to day basis and I’m sure we could get more current quotes from him. I just hate to complain about such out-dated stuff, lets get current please.

    • I’m pretty sure he doesn’t provide stupid in such a concentrated form. Usually it’s more spaced out, while this is nice and pithy.

  12. I’m gonna throw this out there and see how much trouble I get in.

“The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women.”

I would argue that this is often true.

    Discuss. :P

    • You’re right. Third wave feminism is about raising awareness that, while sex is biological, gender is culturally constructed. Therefore, any arbitrary binary making of male and female is not logical. People of all genders (including male, female, gay, lesbian, and transgendered) deserve to have equal rights.

Nice try at baiting us, tho.

      :P

      • Agreed. Feminism is simply unfortunately named, because like the Theory of Evolution, people seem to stop listening after the first few letters and don’t delve deeper into what the concept actually is.

      • Anyone trying to decide just how cultural gender is should take a read of Brainsex by Anne Moir and David Jessel (ISBN 0-7493-0525-8).

  13. The worst part about his words are the number of both males and females that actually believe his words. They see him as some kind of prophet without having to obey the rules the bible say to judge a prophet by.

  14. I hope this means we have more bra-less lesbians indulging in wiccan debauchery. I assume we will get live feeds of this in order to combat this Robertson monster?

  15. I read Robertson’s quote to my girlfriend just now. Her response? “So what’s the downside?”

    • I would assume killing your children would be the biggest downside, although good arguments could be made both ways for destroying capitalism.

Oh, and “anti-family” doesn’t sound good, whatever it means, although I think killing children pretty much covers that.

  16. And of course, no longer be submissive to men! Which is the real issue, I believe. . .

  17. I’m not sure this was his intention, but I feel really empowered after reading that statement! lol

  18. He truly IS nuts, isn’t he!?

  19. Ugh…Pat Dumbertson is in my back yard of all places…I try to avoid that intersection as much as possible…at least the ‘real’ xtians around here do not trust him either.

  20. Oh noes! He’s onto us!

  21. Everybody needs a scapegoat and an ideal enemy to hate, right? What a nice package he got himself. Moron.
