a drunken gift for satire. I don’t even remember any of this, but my name is on it so I must have done it….I think. Not to mention it made it’s way to my email address… It certainly sounds like me drunk… and on shrooms… after I hit myself in the head with a cinder block 20 times… ya know, I’m wondering if this was me at all now… Either I need to not use ‘EN’ when I’m drunk, or I need to beat someones ass for using my name. So death to the false EN, which either means I’m going to AA or someones getting beat with sticks.

I one of my students submitted that and it were checked for plagiarism they would find themselves looking for a job, with no prospect of returning to Academe.

It is one of the most blatant instances of plagiarism I have ever seen.

I wouldn’t put it past him to have know exactly what was going to happen but believe that it’s good publicity … if there’s one thing that Ray is good at it’s self publicity closely followed by posting stuff that even he must know is not true but plays to his loyal band of followers.

I don’t know, maybe he is this delusional. He wouldn’t likely think nobody would notice, but he might actually have copied those pages thinking he’ll get by by just ignoring complaints. It’s always worked out well for him in the past. Ignoring the evidence, ignoring education, ignoring accusations of quote-mining – this is just one more instance where he thinks he can sit it out until it blows over. He’s apologised for stuff like misquoting people or misrepresenting their views before, promising to do better, and boom, within one or two weeks he just did it again. His type of Christianity is designed to pervert any moral compass. Yes, I think it’s about time the legal system did something to bend his compass back into shape.

Roy Comfort has now apparently pulled the original pdf link, OriginofSpecies.pdf, to his book (404 Not Found Error). However, the directory http://assets.livingwaters.com/pdf/ shows that the pdf links “–OriginofSpecies–.pdf” (07-Oct-2009 10:02) and “__OriginofSpecies.pdf” (01-Oct-2009 07:15) are still available, which contain the cited plagiarism.

I urge that these that these be downloaded and archived asap.

MLK’s doctorate was in theology, too – Yet another example of a dishonest Christian – so what’s your point? The difference is, of course, that MLK actually atoned for it by doing some good in the world. Comfort is a lying scumbag without any redeaming qualities.

Oh, plus MLK did it in the 1950s and was found out in the 1980s; we’re dicussing something a bit more recent, m’kay?

This is no more dishonest than MLKJr.’s plagiarism in his DOCTORAL thesis, yet people don’t seem to care and even defend him.

On topic … It wouldn’t surprise me if good ol’ Ray didn’t even know what plaigerism is, let alone realise that it’s wrong … Quote mining for self evident truths from text to use as sermon material is, after all, an intrinsic part of the clergyman’s game.
