Hi,

I go by the internet name of Miss Net Addict. I am 22, Female and I live in Sydney Australia.

I was what I call a "Submarine Catholic" for many years, Only surfaced for Christmas Easter Weddings and Baptisms.

When I was 15 I joined a Catholic Youth Group and felt I had finally "Found" my faith but as time went on I couldn't reconcile the great accepting people (we had Gay members) in this youth group with the rest of the church and gradually I started questioning the idea of a "magical sky daddy".

I am now 22, I have been an Atheist for about 2 years (give or take) One reason I joined this forum is I severely miss the sense of community that I got with my youth group.

Great to have you! Never heard the term "submarine catholic" — but it's a pretty good description!

Hi and welcome! I understand your feeling a bit lonely. Atheism can be a lonely pursuit (?). At least, that's the way it's been for me. Big thanks to Daniel for creating another meeting place for all of us :-)
