2. Focus on your breath and become aware of it as you breathe in and out. As you breath in imagine that you are becoming filled with a sense of light and peace. As you breathe out release any tension and stress, letting melt away with the exhalation.
3. Follow the rhythm of your breath as it flows gently and regularly. Feel yourself becoming more and more slacken and peaceful. Become aware of your breath as the life force that sustains, relaxes and energizes you. Ignore everything that comes into your mind and you will find that it becomes easier to sit and concentrate on your breath.
4. Now repeat a word that has significance to you, it may be ‘peace’, ‘harmony’, ‘love’ or ‘success’. Repeat the word in your mind as you inhale and exhale, you will feel the emotion of that word infusing into your being. 5. After a minute or so bring your attention back to your breathing, take two or three deep breaths and bring your attention back to your surroundings, give your fingers and toes a wriggle, then stretch a little and in your own time open your eyes.
6. Sit quietly for as long as you want to, giving yourself enough time to become accustomed to your everyday state of awareness and some time to enjoy the feelings of peace and calm before returning to your daily activities.
